We’re excited about our new partnership @foodbanktucson through funding from Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona – Punch Woods Endowment.
With their assistance, Campo Urbano will:
- Expanded gardening capabilities that will increase produce yield. The additional produce will be used as a teaching aid in programming, to be distributed to low-income individuals and families..
- We will expand nutrition education to youth, families, & adults that participate in programing.
- As part of Campo Urbano’s behavioral health programming, the expanded gardens will serve as horticulture therapy. Horticulture therapy uses gardening as a tool to meet behavioral health objectives, such as teamwork, self-care, community, healthy decision-making, and reciprocity.
